RACHAEL
Rachael & Sam first met in college at KSDT Radio. They enjoyed many fabulous DJ nights together, but grew really close during grad school. The shared journey of the pursuit of doctoral degrees and post-doc year while balancing music and social life has brought them even closer together. |
|
ADRIENNE
Adrienne & Sam met at girl scouts sometime in the 90’s (let’s not actually figure out what year that was). They became great friends during the school years since they shared the feelings of not fitting in. Adrienne is a great listener and always ready for an adventure. |
|
FERN
Fern & Sam met at the Che Café at UCSD when Sam approached Fern at a show “because she looked friendly.” They were fast friends due to a shared love of punk rock and a hatred of their other roommates. Fern and Sam will always be close even when separated by hundreds of miles. |

LEIA
Leia & Sam met at Athens Popfest in 2011, there was a bucket in a parking lot, and the rest is history. The road trip they made through Pennsylvania to Reptile Land literally made Leia’s dreams come true. Sam wants Leia to know, she’s "thinking about it, girl.” |
|
LIZ
Liz & Sam met at KSDT Radio, the unlikely matchup of Sam and a sorority girl. Somehow, they became friends anyway and have supported each other through many years. Liz’s laugh always warms Sam’s heart. |
|
LAUREN
Lauren & Sam first met on the San Diego Punk Board. Lauren and Sam shared many conversations about ska and picking it up. Oh and cats. Later, they would be in RPC and the Yiffs together. |
|
POUDER
Sam met Pouder on the San Diego Punk Board. They would later bond over sports, whisky, and pop culture trivia. Sam once played on “Team Pouder and the Hangers On B-Team.” Sam wants Pouder to know she isn’t Bruining her life. |
|
GABE
Sam met Gabe when she came over to his house for her first RPC practice. She swears that when she myspace messaged him about joining the band, he asked if she was “an angel descended from heaven.” Years later, we all know that isn’t true, but they’re still great friends anyway. |
|
MARTIN
Martin had a whole legend of great stories that made Sam really excited to finally meet him. Martin suggested Sam join RPC by “just showing up to a show and playing along.” She didn’t do that, but would later join the band, which makes her very happy to this day. They became close through all the RPC tours and late nights of karaoke that often ended with taking a taxicab through a drive through to get burritos. |

NORMANDIE
Sam met Normandie in RPC. They once lived in this crazy house together in Culver City, it assured that neither of them will ever be hoarders. They became even better friends while going through some mutual tough times, which featured frequent international Skype sessions. |
